EVA Air's Royal Laurel business class on the 787-9 features 26 forward-facing staggered seats in a 1-2-1 layout across rows 1–8, with every passenger getting direct aisle access. The seat was designed in collaboration with BMW Group Designworks on a proven staggered seat platform — distinct from both the Cirrus reverse-herringbone Royal Laurel on the 777-300ER and the Premium Laurel cabin on the 787-10. Seats convert to a fully lie-flat bed approximately 193 cm (76 in) long at roughly 51 cm (20 in) wide. There is no suite door.

How to book this cabin

Airlines may change equipment at any time. To ensure you get the 787-9 (789), always check the seat map during and after booking.

Look for these hints:

  • Look for "787-9" or "789"
  • Forward-facing staggered seats — all headrests aligned in the direction of flight (NOT reverse-herringbone)
  • 1-2-1 staggered: window seats and center pairs offset row-to-row, with side consoles between adjacent rows
  • Brown/taupe leather upper with grey fabric lower and signature green accent piping (BMW Designworks styling)
  • IFE screen mounted on a side-deployable arm at the console
  • No suite door — open shell with side privacy wing only
  • Distinct from the 777-300ER Royal Laurel (Cirrus reverse-herringbone) and the 787-10 Premium Laurel
