Qatar's A380 business class is the open-shell one: a B/E Aerospace Super Diamond reverse herringbone with no sliding door, so nothing stands between the seat and the aisle. 48 of them sit in 12 rows of 1-2-1 on the upper deck, between the First cabin at the nose and the bar at the back, and every passenger reaches an aisle directly. The bed runs 80 inches, and dropping the side armrest widens the sleeping surface to about 30. The fuselage curve leaves a deep bin between the window seats and the cabin wall, which is more stowage than the same seat gets on a 777 or A350. The screen is 17 inches, with a three-pin plug and a USB-A port at the console.

How to book this cabin

Airlines may change equipment at any time. To ensure you get the A380-800 (388), always check the seat map during and after booking.

Look for these hints:

  • Look for "A380-800" or "388"
  • Open shell with no door: you can see the aisle from the seat, which rules out Qsuite
  • Upper deck, with the First cabin ahead of it and the bar behind
  • Burgundy upholstery on the window seats, grey on the centre pairs
  • Deep bin following the fuselage curve beside each window seat
